  • 12 mm Crochet Hook
  • Stitch Markers or Earrings
  • Yarn Needle

Part 1: Front Panel

  1. Foundation Chain:
    • Create a foundation half double crochet chain of 34 stitches or any even number you prefer.
    • The chain should measure about 48 cm for a medium oversized fit.
  2. Row 1:
    • Chain 2 and turn your work.
    • Half double crochet into the back loop only for each stitch across the row.
  3. Rows 2-14:
    • Chain 2 and turn your work.
    • Half double crochet into the back loop only of each stitch.
    • Continue crocheting until your piece measures about 31-32 cm (or around 14 rows).

Part 2: Creating the V-Neck

  1. Row 15:
    • Place markers in the 17th stitch to indicate the center.
    • Chain 2, turn your work, and half double crochet to 1 stitch before the marker.
    • Decrease in the last two stitches before the marker.
    • Chain 2 and turn.
  2. Row 16:
    • Decrease in the first two stitches.
    • Half double crochet in the back loop only.
    • Continue decreasing at the beginning and end of each row to shape the V-neck.
  3. Continue Decreasing:
    • Repeat the steps for 7 rows, till the piece reaches the shoulder height.
  4. Repeat for Other Side:
    • Rejoin yarn to the other side at the marker, repeating the decreasing steps for symmetry.

Part 3: Back Panel

  1. Foundation Chain:
    • Create another foundation half double crochet chain of 34 stitches.
  2. Rows:
    • Chain 2, turn your work, and half double crochet into the back loop only for 21 rows.

Part 4: Sleeves

  1. Foundation Chain:
    • Create a foundation half double crochet chain of 40 stitches.
  2. Rows:
    • Chain 2, turn your work, and half double crochet into the back loop only for 16 rows.
  3. Make Two Sleeves:
    • Repeat the steps to create the second sleeve.

Part 5: Assembly

  1. Attach Shoulders:

Finishing

  1. Weave in Ends:
    • Weave in all loose ends using the yarn needle.
  2. Block the Sweater:
    • Optionally block the sweater to size by wetting and shaping it, allowing it to dry flat.

Optional: Sleeve Cuffs

  • Add extra rows to the end of sleeves if you'd like to fold them up into cuffs.
