Crocheting this piece is like weaving a bit of magic – stitch by stitch. You bring to life a garment that's as fun to make as it is to wear. So grab your crochet hook, choose your favorite yarn, and get ready to make something truly special that's all your own.

Materials Needed:

  • Crochet yarn
  • Crochet hook (size not specified)
  • Stitch marker
  • Scissors
  • Measuring tape

Crochet Pattern:

1

Making the Cup:

  • Measure your Chain: Measure the chain to fit from your nipple to the side of your breast to determine the length. For the demonstrated project, this was 16 chains.

Row 1:

2

Chain 16 (or the length you measured).

  • Starting from the second chain from the hook, single crochet in each chain to the end.
  • In the last chain, work 5 single crochets to turn the corner, placing a stitch marker in the third single crochet to denote the mid-point. Complete the row by single crocheting down the other side of the chain, ensuring you have the same number of stitches on both sides.

Subsequent Rows:

  • Chain 1 and turn your work.
  • Starting in the first stitch, work single crochets through the back loop only until you reach the stitch marker. At the marker, work 3 single crochets into the marked stitch (relocate the stitch marker to the middle stitch of these three for reference).

3

Continue with back loop only single crochets to the end.

  • Repeat this process, continuing to work in a circular pattern around the edge of the cup, increasing at the marked stitch each row until the cup is the desired size.
  • Joining the Cups and Working the Bottom Section:

Join Cups: Lay out the cups to determine the best orientation for your body and then work double crochets to join the cups together, leaving a small gap (4-5 chains) between them.

4

First Bottom Row:

  • Connect the bottom of the cups with a small chain of 3 (adjust based on fit).
  • Start the next row by chaining 4, then work a series of double crochets, skipping stitches to create a space stitch pattern across the bottom of the cups.

Next Rows:

  • Chain 2, turn your work, and work a row of half double crochets into each space and stitch across.
  • To create a Keyhole effect at the bottom, pause halfway through your row of single crochets to chain a loop. That will bridge the gap between the two sides, then continue single crocheting to the end.
  • For additional shaping, you may need to increase stitch lengths (switching to double crochets) in the center rows and then decrease back to half double crochets towards the edges.

Finishing Touches:

Straps and Edging:

  • Edge the sides of the top with half double crochets for a neat finish.
  • For the straps, work a pattern of secure double crochets across the top edge of each cup, creating a chain long enough to tie behind your neck.

Fringe and Final Details:

  • If desired, add a fringe or tassel detail on the side straps for decoration. To do this, loop yarn through a stitch at the edge, braid it to your preferred length, then secure and fray the ends for a tassel effect.

Try On! Adjust and trim yarn as necessary, ensuring all ends are woven in for a neat finish.
