 Watermelon Doll Crochet Pattern

We have made this very cute doll  that looks like a little Watermelon. It's quick to crochet, perfect for kids, and a delight for anyone who loves playful, amigurumi-style projects. Let’s get started and make this adorable Watermelon Doll  from start to finish.

Pattern Highlights

What Makes This  doll  Special?

  • Watermelon Motif: The main body and hat reflect the look of a fresh Watermelon, complete with seeds and a leafy cap rim.
  • Amigurumi Construction: Worked in continuous rounds for a seamless finish and soft, squishy feel.
  • All-in-One: The pattern covers all core components: head, body, legs, arms, ears, and even the cute strawberry hat!
  • Assembly Simplicity: All parts are stitched together for durability. Beads or embroidery are used for the eyes, and facial details are easily sewn on.
  • Size Option: Small enough to use as a keychain, car mirror charm, or as a soft toy for children.

Notes

  • Use a stitch marker to mark the start of each round; this keeps your increases and decreases perfectly aligned.
  • The doll and hat are made separately, then assembled.
  • For the ‘seeds’ (beads or embroidery) and facial expression, follow your own taste for positioning.
  • Stuff firmly but not overly tight, as too much stuffing can distort the roundness.
  • All rounds are worked in a spiral (do not join at the end of a round unless otherwise indicated).
  • The arms, legs, and ears are all simple tubes or circles, ideal for beginners.

Skill Level

Beginner to Confident Beginner:
You need to know how to work in spirals, increase, decrease, and basic assembly. Even if this is your first amigurumi project, it’s approachable with patience.

Materials

  • Yarn: 4-ply wool or acrylic in strawberry red/pink, white, cream, green, and a little black
  • Crochet hook: 3.5 mm
  • Stuffing: Cotton or polyester fiberfill
  • Needle: Yarn (tapestry) needle for assembly and embroidery
  • Eyes: Black beads or embroidery thread for eyes, optional safety eyes
  • Scissors

Measurements / Sizing

  • Height (with hat): 10–12 cm (approx. 4–5 inches)
  • Width: 6–7 cm (approx. 2.5 inches)
  • Keychain option: Scale is perfect for hangings and charms

Gauge (and Stitch Pattern)

  • Gauge is not critical but should be tight enough to avoid stuffing showing between stitches.
