Materials Needed

  • Thick yarn (approximately 5 mm thick)
  • 4 mm crochet hook
  • Stitch marker
  • Yarn needle
  • Stuffing material
  • Scissors
  • Felt cloth in black, brown, yellow for details
  • Glue
  • Milk cotton yarn for scarf

Abbreviations

  • Ch = Chain
  • Sc = Single crochet
  • Dec = Decrease (crochet two stitches together)
  • Inc = Increase (two single crochets in one stitch)
  • Sl St = Slip Stitch

Pattern

Save

Hands (Make 2)

Start with a magic ring.

  • Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring.
  • Round 2: (1 sc, 1 inc) three times (9 sc).
  • Rounds 3 - 9: sc in each st around (9 sc).

Save

Flip piece, stuff lightly, and sew the opening closed, crocheting through opposite stitches.

Legs (Make 2)

Start with a magic ring.

  • Round 1: 7 sc in magic ring.
  • Round 2: inc in each st around (14 sc).
  • Rounds 3 - 4: sc in each st around (14 sc).

Save

Cut yarn after first leg but not after the second.

Body

Save

Join legs:

Ch 2, join with first leg with a sc, sc around the first leg.

Sc in the 2 ch, then sc around the second leg, and in the other side of the 2 ch.

  • Round 1: sc around (32 sc).
  • Round 2: 14 sc, 2 inc, 15 sc, inc in last stitch (35 sc).
  • Rounds 3 - 8: sc in each st around (35 sc).

Stuff the body.

Save

Head

  • Round 9: (5 sc, dec) five times (30 sc).
  • Round 10: (4 sc, dec) five times (25 sc).
  • Round 11: (3 sc, dec) five times (20 sc).
  • Round 12: Attach hands with sc as instructed in the video.

Continue increasing rounds for the head as specified, shaping with decreases.

Save

Stuff the head.

Ears (Make 2)

Start with a magic ring.

  • Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring.
  • Round 2: inc in each st around (12 sc).
  • Rounds 3 - 6: Follow pattern instructions for shaping ears.

Sew ears to the head.

Save

Details

  • Eyes: Crochet or cut out felt according to the video instructions and glue on.
  • Nose and whiskers: Use felt and yarn as shown, attaching them with glue or sewing.
  • Scarf: Chain to desired length, then double crochet in each chain. Wrap around the cat's neck.
