 Materials

  • Yarn: Comfy Worsted (75% Pima Cotton, 25% Acrylic, 109yds/99m, 50g). Colors: Ivory and Copper

  • Yarn needle

Abbreviations (US Terms)

  • Ch = chain
  • St(s) = stitch(es)
  • SC = single crochet
  • BLO = back loop only

Size

  • The gloves can be made in 3 sizes based on the measurement around your hand (excluding the thumb):
    • Small: finished glove width approximately 3" (7.5cm) fits 7" hand circumference
    • Medium: finished glove width fits 8" hand circumference
    • Large: finished glove width fits 9" hand circumference
  • Adjust the width and length by chaining more or less for your foundation chain and working more or less rows.

Gauge

  • 17 Sts x 19 rows in pattern = 4" (10cm)

Pattern Notes

  • Gloves are worked flat in rows and then stitched together on the side of the thumb.
  • Ch 1 at the beginning of a row does not count as a stitch.
  • Use a 5.5mm hook for the foundation chain and a 4.5mm hook for the rest of the glove.

Written Instructions

  1. Foundation Chain: With a 5.5mm (I/9) hook, chain 35. (Chain more for longer gloves, less for shorter gloves.)
  2. Row 1: Switch to a 4.5mm hook. Starting in the second chain from the hook, SC in the back bump of each chain across (34 Sts). Ch 1 and turn.
  3. Row 2: SC in BLO of each Stitch across (34 Sts). Ch 1 and turn.
  4. Repeat Row 2 until the piece measures:
    • 5.5" for Small
    • 6.5" for Medium
    • 7.5" for Large

Assembling

  1. Sew the sides together with a yarn needle, starting 2 inches from the top, leave a 1.5-inch space for the thumb, and then continue to stitch together the rest.
  2. To create the thumb hole, when reaching the thumb gap, stitch through one side to avoid having to cut the yarn.
