No Sew Crochet Frankenstein's Monster Amigurumi Pattern

Meet our No Sew Crochet Frankenstein's Monster Amigurumi! This fun and easy project is perfect for crochet beginners and those who prefer not to sew pieces together. Using soft and chunky yarn, you'll crochet a cute little Frankenstein in one piece, from his round, friendly head down to his little feet. Along the way, you'll switch colors to create his iconic black hair and different parts of his outfit.

Head and Body:

Start with brown yarn. Create a magic ring or chain 2 (the chain 2 method is recommended for fluffier yarns).

  • Round 1: 8 single crochet (sc) into the second chain from the hook or into the magic ring (8 stitches).
  • Round 2: Increase (2 sc in each stitch) all the way around (16 stitches).
  • Round 3: (1 sc, increase) repeat all the way around (24 stitches).
  • Round 4: (2 sc, increase) repeat all the way around (32 stitches).

Feet:

2

  • Round 5: Start with 12 sc in brown, then switch to black yarn during the last stitch to work on the feet.
  • Create a 4 triple crochet bobble for the first foot using black yarn.
  • Continue with 6 sc in brown, then switch to black to create the second foot the same way as the first.

Finish the round with 12 sc in brown (32 stitches).

Legs:

For Rounds 6-8: sc in each stitch around (32 stitches in each round).

Switch to purple yarn at the end of Round 8.

Shirt:

  • Round 9: (2 sc, decrease) repeat all the way around (24 stitches).
  • Round 10: sc in each stitch around (24 stitches).
  • Round 11: Start with 7 sc in purple. Switch to green for the arms, which are made similarly to the feet. Continue with 7 sc, 8 sc, and 7 sc, ensuring the placement of the arms is symmetrical.

Head:

  • Round 12: sc in each stitch around (24 stitches).
  • Round 13: (1 sc, decrease) repeat all the way around (16 stitches).
  • Switch to green yarn at the end of Round 13.
  • Round 14: Increase in each stitch around (32 stitches).
  • Round 15: (3 sc, increase) repeat all the way around (40 stitches).

4

For Rounds 16-17: sc in each stitch around (40 stitches in each round). Switch to black yarn at the end of Round 17.

Hair:

  • Round 18: (3 sc, decrease) repeat all the way around (32 stitches).
  • Rounds 19-20: sc in each stitch around (32 stitches in each round).

Finishing the Head:

  • Round 21: Alternate between one regular sc and a dropped sc for a spiked hair appearance, followed by a decrease all the way around (24 stitches).
  • Round 22: (1 sc, decrease) repeat all the way around (16 stitches).
  • Round 23: Decrease all the way around until you have 8 stitches left. Stuff the head and close the opening with yarn.

Finishing Touches:

  • Embroider the eyes, nose, and mouth onto the face using black and white yarn.
  • Add bolts and ears by crocheting directly onto the body with gray and green yarn, respectively.
  • Add any additional details such as embroidered stitches to represent Frankenstein's "stitches."

Trim any excess yarn and ensure all ends are secured.
