Crochet Zombie Ghost Amigurumi Pattern

Crochet Zombie Ghost Amigurumi Pattern

Materials Needed:

  • Worsted yarn in green, and small amounts in pink, black, and red
  • 3.5 mm US crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • Stitch marker
  • One 12 mm safety eye
  • Scissors
  • Fiber fill for stuffing

Crochet Pattern:

Body:

Start with a Magic Ring:

  • In the magic ring, make 6 single crochets. Pull the tail to close the ring.

Round 2 (Increase Round):

  • Increase in each stitch around (2 single crochets in each stitch). You will have 12 stitches at the end of this round.

Round 3:

  • Pattern: 1 single crochet in the next stitch, then 2 single crochets (increase) in the following stitch. Repeat this pattern around. Total of 18 stitches.

For Round 4:

  • Pattern: 1 single crochet in the next two stitches, then 2 single crochets (increase) in the following stitch. Repeat this pattern around. Total of 24 stitches.

Round 5 (Last Increase Round):

  • Pattern: 1 single crochet in the next three stitches, then 2 single crochets (increase) in the following stitch. Repeat this pattern around. Total of 30 stitches.

Rounds 6-12:

  • 1 single crochet in each stitch around. Each round will consist of 30 single crochets.
  • Shaping the Head:

Round 13 (Decrease Round):

  • Pattern: 1 single crochet in the next three stitches, then a decrease over the next two stitches (use the front loop only for decreases). Repeat around for a total of 24 stitches.

Adding Features:

  • Eyes: Insert a safety eye between rows 9 and 10. Use black yarn to sew an "X" for the second eye.
  • Mouth: You can use red yarn to add a small sewn detail for the mouth if desired.

Finishing Touches:

Round 14 (Shell Edging for the Base):

  • Work in the front loop only of every stitch.
  • Pattern: 5 half double crochets in one stitch, skip a stitch, slip stitch in the next. Repeat around for a frilled bottom edge.

Fill with Fiber Fill:

  • Before completely closing the bottom, stuff your ghost firmly with fiber fill.

Final Rounds:

  • Continue making decreases and single crochets as described until the bottom is closed. Use the yarn tail to sew the opening shut.

Brain Detail:

With Pink Yarn:

  • Chain 40. This chain will be shaped into a brain pattern on top of the ghost's head.
  • Sew the chain in a piled arrangement on the head to form a brain-like appearance.

With Red Yarn:

  • Outline the pink "brain" with red yarn to add detail.

Additional Embellishments:

  • Use black yarn to add a scar near the brain for extra zombie effect.

Completion:

  • Finish off all ends, and trim any excess yarn. Your zombie ghost is now ready to spook up your decor!
