Free Crochet Frog Simple Pattern Using Softer Yarn

  • Mr-magic ring
  • Ch-chain
  • Slst-slip stitch
  • Sc- single crochet
  • Inc-single crochet increase single crochet in 1 stitch Dec-single crochet invisible decrease- sc 2 stitch together Dc- double crochet

Materials

  • Crochet hook suitable with your yarns.
  • I used a 3mm yarn with a hook size of 2.5mm.
  • Yarn: white-green.
  • Scissors, tweezers, sewing needle, pins, pompoms
  • Plastic doll eyes (7mm), stuffed fiberfill, hot glue.

Head

  • Work in spiral rounds begins with green yarn.

Eyes (make 2)

  • Rnd 1. Mr 9sc [9]
  • Rnd 2- Rnd 3. 9sc [9]

Head

  • Join 2 in eyes into one piece
  • Continue crocheting with green yarn
  • Rnd 4. continue to crochet on the eye 2: ch3
  • Working around the eye 1: 9sc, 3sc on ch3, working around the eye 2: 9sc, 3sc on ch3. [24]
  • Rnd 5. (3sc, inc)*6 [30]
  • Rnd 6- Rnd 9. 30sc [30]

Change white yarn:

  • Rnd 10- Rnd 11. 30sc [30]
  • Rnd 12. (dec, 3sc)*6 [24]
  • Rnd 13. (dec, 2sc)*6 [18]
  • Rnd 14. (dec, sc)*6 [12]

Body

Change green yarn, continue crocheting from the frog's head

  • Rnd 15. 12sc [12]
  • Rnd 16. (2sc, inc)*4 [16]
  • Rnd 17. (inc, 2sc)*4 [20]
  • Rnd 18. (3sc, inc)*4 [24]
  • Rnd 19- Rnd 23. 24sc [24]

Cut the yarn. Fasten off.

Belly

Work in spiral rounds, use white yarn.
