Make a colorful bag made by looping yarn with a special needle, called a crochet hook. That's what a crochet market bag is all about. It's a hand-made tote that you can carry to the store or the park. It stretches out to hold all of your fresh fruits and veggies, and it's sturdy enough to last a long time. Plus, using this bag helps the Earth because it means less plastic bags. Every time you use it, you're being kind to the planet. And the best part? It's pretty and unique, just like something a friend would make for you.

- Make a slip knot and insert your hook.

Step 2: Row 1 - Yarn Over Slip Stitches
- Turn the chain to work on the opposite side.
- Start in the second chain from the hook.
- Yarn over, insert hook into the chain, yarn over and pull through (you will have 3 loops on the hook).
- Use your finger to push out the middle loop and pull through all 3 loops on the hook to complete the slip stitch.
- Repeat this process to create 35 yarn over slip stitches.

For Step 3: Rows 2 - 90 - Yarn Over Slip Stitches
- Yarn over, look at the top of the stitches to find the front and back loops.
- Insert the hook under both loops, yarn over and pull through, push out the middle loop and pull through all loops on the hook.

- Chain 1 and turn at the end of each row.

For Step 6: Preparing the Yarn for Seaming

- Measure yarn 3 times the length of the seam and cut it.
- Pull the end through the last loop and pull tight to knot.
Step 7: Repeat on the Other End
- Repeat steps 4-6 on the opposite end starting from the original chain.
Step 8: Sewing the Seams
- Line up the side edges using stitch markers and thread the needle with the seaming yarn.
- Insert the needle through first stitch of both edges and sew using your preferred method (e.g., mattress stitch, regular stitching).
- Continue until you reach the end of the seam, ensuring stitches are close together.
For Step 9: Crocheting the Straps
- Leave a long tail and make a slip knot.
- Chain 2.
- Single crochet into the second chain from the hook.
- Turn, locate the single loop, and single crochet through it.
- Turn again, now work under both loops and continue single crocheting for 25 inches in length.
- Repeat for second strap.
Step 10: Attaching the Straps
- Position the straps at the end of the 8 rows of slip stitches.
- Sew the ends of the straps on both sides of the bag.
- Weave in the ends securely.
