Handbag Dimensions:

Pattern Instructions:
Starting the Base:
- Start by making a ring, chain 1, and work 3 single crochets (sc) into the ring.
- Tighten the ring.
- At the end of each row, chain 1 (ch-1) and turn. Always work in the back loop only.
First Row:
- Starting with the second loop from the hook, work 1 sc, and then 2 sc into each of the next stitches.
- Work 3 sc into the next and then 2 sc in the last loop.
- You should have 7 stitches at the end of the row.
Second Row:
- Chain 1 and turn. Work 2 sc in the first loop.
- Work 1 sc each until the central stitch.
- Work 3 sc in the central stitch.
- Continue with 1 sc each until the last stitch.
- Make 2 sc in the last stitch.
Progressive Rows:
- Continue as established, increasing at both ends of each row and working 3 sc in the central stitch.
- Each row will increase the stitch count evenly on both sides to form an oval base.
- Follow this pattern until you have reached the required length for the bag bottom. Use your phone to measure for the correct fit.
Side Edges:
- Once the bottom is wide enough for your phone, you will start working rows without increasing to build up the sides.
- When reaching the height where the sides meet the top corners of the phone, you'll start decreasing at both edges of the rows while still making 3 sc in the central stitch.
Decreasing Rows:
- Decrease by skipping a stitch at the beginning and end of each row.
- Work even sc between the decreases.
- Continue with this pattern until you've reached the desired height for your phone bag.
Finishing the Top:
- Work a sc border around the top edge of the bag, ensuring one sc in each row end around.
- In corners, work 3 sc in one loop for a smooth edge.
Finishing:
- Finish the side seams by folding the crochet fabric with the right sides facing in and stitching the sides closed with a plastic needle and the cord.
- If you choose to use a magnetic button, sew it on the inside of the bag for closure.
- Attach the ready-made chain for the strap or crochet a strap with the yarn.
Final Measurements:
- Ensure the bag measures approximately 46 cm in length and 10 cm in width after completion.
