It's perfect for decorating a cozy corner, cheering up your desk, or giving a special someone a petite, handcrafted surprise that says "I'm thinking of you." These cute tulips are always in bloom, ready to brighten your day!
Crocheting the Pot:
Row 1: Start with a magic ring and make 6 single crochet (sc) into the ring. Pull yarn tightly, then make a slip stitch (sl st) into the first stitch (st) and chain (ch) 1 to move to the next row.
- Row 2: Increase (inc) in each st for a total of 6 times (make 2 sc in each st). Sl st into the first st.
- Row 3: Ch 1. Sc in the next st, then increase in the following st. Repeat from * to * five more times. Sl st into the first st.
- Row 4: Ch 1. Sc in each of the first 2 sts, then make one increase and repeat this pattern five more times. Sl st into the first st.
- Row 5: Ch 1. For this row, crochet in the back loops only. Make 24 sl sts using the back loops. Finish with a sl st into the first st.
- Row 6: Ch 1. Single crochet into each of the first 3 sts, then make one increase. Repeat pattern five more times. Sl st into the first st.
- Row 7: Ch 1. Make one sc in each st around. There should be a total of 30 sc. Sl st into the first st to join.
- Rows 8 to 11: Repeat row 7.
- Row 12: Ch 2. This row will be worked in the front loops only. Make one half double crochet (hdc) in each st around. Join with a sl st in the first st.
Creating the Soil:
Row 1: Make 6 sc into a magic ring. As you tighten the loop, leave a small hole in it (this is where we'll insert the flower later). Sl st into the first st. Continue with the first four rows following the same pattern as the pot. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff the pot with some cotton and sew the pot and soil together.
Crocheting the Tulip Bud:
- Row 1: Make a magic ring and crochet 7 sc into the ring. Work in continuous rows without joining.
- Row 2: Inc in each st around (14 sts).
- Row 3: Sc in the next st, inc in the following st. Repeat from * to * around (21 sts).
- Row 4: Sc in each of the next 2 sts, inc in the following st. Repeat this pattern around (28 sts).
- Row 5 to 11: Sc in each st around (28 sts). Slip stitch into the first Stitch and fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff the tulip bud with some cotton.
Making the Leaves:
- Start with a slip knot and make 12 chains (ch). Place a 15 cm wire along the chains as you crochet to add stability.
- Insert the hook into the second chain from the hook, yarn over and pull through along with the wire to make a sc. Continue with the pattern as described in the video, using half double crochet (hdc) and single crochet (sc) stitches along the chain and wire.
Assembling the Tulip and Pot:
- Prepare a branch of 8 to 10 cm and glue it to the base of the tulip bud. Wrap green yarn around the branch and attach the leaves. Wrap the yarn around the branch to finish.
