You will need

  • Ricorumi DK Cotton in Yellow 006, Orange 027 Cream 002, Candy Pink 012
  • 2.5mm hook
  • Yarn needle
  • Two 6mm safety eyes
  • Black embroidery floss
  • Fiberfill

Abbreviations

  • Stitches are in US terms
  • ch = chain
  • st = stitch
  • sts = stitches
  • sc = single crochet
  • inc = increase
  • dec = decrease
  • rep = repeat
  • FLO = Front Loop Only

Using Yellow, Ch12

  • Rnd 1 starting in 2nd ch from hook, 10sc, 3sc in same st, working down the other side of the ch, 9sc, inc (24)
  • Rnd 2 inc, 9sc, 3inc, 9sc, 2inc (30)
  • Rnds 3-5 sc each st around (30)
  • To ensure the color change is at the back complete and an extra 8sc, this will be our starting point from now on.

Change to orange

  • Rnd 6 sc each st around (30)
  • Rnd 7 *3sc, dec* rep 6 times (24)

Insert safety eyes between rnds 4 – 5 four sts apart

  • Rnd 8 sc each st around (24)
  • Rnd 9 *2sc, dec* rep 6 times (18)
  • Rnd 10 sc each st around (18)

Start to insert stuffing and continue as we go.

Change to Cream

  • Rnd 11 sc each st around (18)
  • Rnd 12 *sc, dec* rep 6 times (12)
  • Rnd 13 sc each st around (12)

Cut yarn, leaving a long tail.

Finishing off! Using a yarn needle, weave the long tail through the FLO of the final rnd. Pull the yarn tight, closing the hole. Weave in any ends. Use three strands of embroidery floss to stitch a smile between the eyes. Use Candy Pink to add cheeks under each eye.
