Pattern Steps:

Embossed Motif 1

Base Ring:

  • Start with a slip knot.
  • Chain 6.
  • Join to the first chain with a slip stitch to form a ring.

Row 1:

  • Chain 3 (counts as a double crochet).
  • Work 15 double crochets into the center of the ring.
  • Join with a slip stitch to the top of the initial chain 3.

Embossed Motif 2

Row 2:

  • Chain 4.
  • Into the next stitch, work 5 double crochets, chain 1, then 1 double crochet into the next stitch, chain 1. Repeat from * to * around, making a total of 7 repetitions.
  • After the final repetition, work 5 double crochets into the last stitch, then chain 1.
  • Join with a slip stitch into the third chain of the starting chain 4.

Embossed Motif 3

For Row 3:

  • Chain 4, then double crochet into the same space.
  • Work 2 double crochets into each of the next 5 stitches, chain 1, double crochet, chain 1, double crochet in the next stitch to form a V shape. Repeat from * to * around.
  • Join with a slip stitch to the third chain of the starting chain 4.

Row 4:

  • Chain 3, double crochet in the same space.
  • Double crochet 2 stitches together over the next 2 stitches, repeat this a total of 5 times to decrease. Then, chain 1.

For Row 5:

  • Chain 4.

Row 6 (Creating the Square):

  • Chain 4, double crochet in the next stitch, chain 1.
  • In the next chain-1 space, work [2 treble crochets, chain 2, 2 treble crochets] to form a corner.
