  1. Starting
    • Begin with a slip knot and chain 5 to make a magic circle.
    • Slip your hook into the last stitch, pull through the yarn, and close the circle.
  2. Round 1
    • Chain 2
    • Make 12 double crochets (dc) into the middle of the circle.
    • Save
  3. Round 2
    • Chain 2
    • Make 2 double crochets into each stitch around. (Total: 24 dc)
  4. Round 3
    • Chain 2
    • 2 double crochets into the next stitch, 1 double crochet into the following stitch, repeat to the end. (Total: 36 dc)
  5. Round 4
    • Chain 2
    • 2 double crochets into the next stitch, 1 double crochet into each of the next 2 stitches, repeat to the end. (Total: 48 dc)
    • Save
  6. Round 5
    • Chain 2
    • 2 double crochets into the next stitch, 1 double crochet into each of the next 3 stitches, repeat to the end. (Total: 60 dc)
  7. Round 6
    • Chain 2
    • 2 double crochets into the next stitch, 1 double crochet into each of the next 4 stitches, repeat to the end. (Total: 72 dc)
  8. Round 7
    • Chain 2
    • Front post double crochet (FP dc) into every stitch. This means you take your hook and go underneath the stitch.
  9. Rounds 8-11
    • Chain 2
    • Make 1 double crochet into each stitch around for a total of 4 rounds.
  10. Round 12
    • Chain 2
    • Work 4 double crochets into the front loop of the stitch, then 2 double crochets into the same stitch (this is going underneath the stitch, not in front), repeat to the end.
