Pattern:

  1. Head:
    • Round 1:
      • Create a magic ring and work 6 sc into the ring. (6 st)
    • Round 2:
      • 6 inc. (2 sc in each stitch). (12 st)

    • Round 3:
      • (sc in next st, inc in next st) around. (18 st)
    • Round 4:
      • Begin with 3 sc, place a stitch marker in the first one, then 5 more sc. Chain 7. Slip stitch in the 3rd chain from the hook and each of the next 4 chains. Sc in next stitch on the caterpillar's head. Repeat for the second antenna. Sc in next 7 stitches. (18 st)
    • Round 5:
      • Sc in each stitch around. (18 st)
  2. Face Embroidery:
    • Use black yarn to embroider the eyes and mouth. Place the eyes below the antennae on the third row and create the mouth between the stitches of round one.

  4. Finishing:
    • Stuff the caterpillar, including the head and each body section.
    • If making a rattle, sandwich a craft bell in polyfill stuffing in each body section.
