Super Easy Crochet Top

 How To Crochet Lightweight Top

Materials Needed:

  • 3.0 mm crochet hook
  • Acrylic yarn (double for thickness)
  • Scissors
  • Tape measure

Steps to Crochet the Bralette:

Bralette Cups:

  1. Start with a Slip Knot:
    • Create a slip knot and insert the 3.0 mm hook.
  2. Chain Foundation:
    • Chain 18 for a size S.
  3. Start Double Crocheting:
    • Count four chains from the hook, then double crochet in the 14th chain.
    • Continue double crocheting across the chain until the end.
  4. Subsequent Rows:
    • Chain 2 at the end of each row, turn your work.
    • Double crochet all the way down to the end again.
    • Repeat this for 7 rows.
  5. Increase at the End:
    • Once at the end of a row, find the tight space at the edge, and place two double crochets into that space, then chain one, and place two more double crochets into the same space.
  6. Forming the Shape:
    • Continue double crocheting down the same side.
  7. Second Cup:
    • Repeat the same pattern to make another cup identical to the first one.

Scalloped Edges:

  1. Start the Edges:
    • Chain 110 at the top of one cup and slip stitch into the next stitch to begin the scalloped edge.
    • Yarn over, count three chains, and place a double crochet five times in the next chain space.
    • Repeat this process around the cup for creating the scalloped design.

Straps:

  1. Create Straps:
    • Single crochet into the chain one space at the top of the cup, then chain 254 chains for the strap.
    • Cut the yarn with scissors and fasten off.
    • Repeat on the other side of the same cup.
  2. Attach Straps on the Other Cup:
    • Repeat the same process for the other cup to ensure symmetry.

Joining the Cups:

  1. Base Connection:
    • Chain 18 to connect the base of one cup, single crochet into the base and continue around.
  2. Base Crochet:
    • Single crochet through to the end of the first cup.
    • Attach the yarn on the other cup and repeat the process.
  3. Second Base Connection:
    • Ensure that both cups are joined seamlessly at the base.

Decorative Pattern at Bottom:

  1. Bottom Shell Pattern:
    • Chain 2, double crochet, skip one chain, and double crochet again into the next chain space creating a shell pattern.
    • Continue this across the bottom edge.
  2. Repeat Rows:
    • For each new row, chain two and repeat the shell pattern until you reach your desired length.

Final Touch:

  1. Finish:
    • After you finish the last row, cut the yarn with scissors and weave in the excess yarn.
    • Optionally, you might add beads for extra touch and do crisscross design at the back for closure.
  2. Optional Lining:
    • Add optional lining for visual appeal.

Final Notes:

  • Follow and repeat the pattern as instructed.
  • Optionally, you can personalize the design with beads or additional decorations.

This should give you a detailed and clear pattern to follow for crocheting the bralette. Happy crocheting!
