Cutest Crochet Sunflower Pouch Pattern

Whether you're carrying a little piece of sunshine with you. This charming Crochet Sunflower Pouch looks like a bright sunflower. It is small but perfect for holding your treasures and maybe some coins, keys, or a little snack.

Crochet Sunflower Pouch

Crochet Sunflower Pouch Pattern

Make the warm brown center and sunny petals, all made by looping yarn with a small hooked needle. It's not just useful; it's like a happy flower that you can take along on your daily walks or give as a sweet handmade gift to someone special. Isn't it lovely to have something that's both pretty and practical? That's the joy of this little sunflower pouch.

Materials Needed:

  • Brown yarn (shade of your choice, light brown recommended)
  • Optional third color yarn for the pouch exterior
  • 4.5 mm crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle

Pattern Steps:

Base Circle:

Sunflower Pouch 1

Create a Magic Circle:

  • Using brown yarn, make a magic circle.
  • Chain 1 (this does not count as a stitch).
  • Make 10 half double crochets inside the magic circle.
  • Pull tightly to close the circle.
  • Slip stitch into the top of your first half double crochet to join the round.

Second Round:

  • Chain 1.
  • Increase in each stitch (two half double crochets in each stitch), which results in 20 stitches by the end of the round.
  • Slip stitch into the top of your first half double crochet to join.

Third Round:

  • Chain 1.
  • One half double crochet in the first stitch, increase in the next stitch - repeat this pattern around the circle.
  • You should have 30 stitches by the end of the round.
  • Reverse slip stitch to join the round.

Attaching New Color (Optional):

Fourth Round:

  • If changing color, tie off the brown yarn and attach the new color using a slip knot to the back loop only of the first stitch from the previous round.
  • Chain 1.
  • Half double crochet two times in the back loops only, then increase in the following stitch - repeat this pattern around.
  • You will have 40 stitches in this round.
  • Complete the round with a regular slip stitch.

Fifth Round:

  • Chain 1.
  • Three single crochets, then make an increase - repeat this pattern around.
  • You should have 50 stitches by the end of this round.
  • Slip stitch into the top of your first single crochet to join.

Handle:

Creating the Handle:

  • Chain 55 (adjust length as desired).
  • Slip stitch back into the same space where you joined the last round.
  • Tie off your yarn.

Making the Back of the Pouch:

Sunflower Pouch 4

Repeat Steps for Base Circle:

  • Perform the steps from the base circle pattern to create the back of the pouch following the same number of rounds and stitches.

Sunflower Petals:

Adding Petals:

  • Use yellow yarn to create petals.
  • Attach yarn to any front loop from round three of the front circle.
  • Chain 1, double crochet, treble crochet, chain 3, and slip stitch in the first chain of chain three for a picot.
  • Continue pattern around for 15 petals.
  • Finish with a slip stitch into the loop where you started and tie off the yarn.

Assembly:

Join Front and Back:

  • Put the wrong sides together.
  • Start slip stitching around, ensuring to pull the yarn through all four loops each time.
  • Leave a gap of stitches unworked for the pouch opening.
  • Once done, tie off your yarn and weave in all ends.

The sunflower pouch is now complete! Enjoy your new creation.
