Crochet Stingray Fish Keychain Pattern Save

This keychain isn’t just a handy accessory but also brings a splash of sea life magic to your everyday adventures. Whether you're a fan of the ocean or simply adore cute things, this crochet stingray is sure to win your heart and make a delightful companion for your keys!

Materials Needed:

  • White yarn
  • Gray yarn
  • Red yarn (for the mouth)
  • Crochet hook
  • Safety pin
  • Yarn needle
  • (Optional) Stuffing
  • (Optional) Doll eyes or black yarn for embroidery

Body Pattern (Make 2 pieces, one in white and one in gray):

1 Save

Start with a chain of 8.

  • Row 1: Starting in the second chain from the hook, do 7 single crochets (SC).
  • Row 2-3: Chain 1, turn, 7 SC across.
  • Row 5-15: Start increasing both sides of the row. Increase in the first stitch, SC across to the last stitch, increase in the last stitch. Chain 1, turn.
  • Row 16: After completing the 15th row, chain 1, cut off the yarn on one side.
  • Row 17-28: On the other side, count 12 stitches from where you cut off the yarn, then attach the yarn on the 13th stitch. Chain 1, and do 6 SC. Chain 1, turn, and continue with 6 SC across for each row until you reach row 28. Start skipping the first stitch from row 18 to decrease and shape the tail.
  • Row 29-30: Continue shaping the tail by decreasing stitches at the beginning of each row until the 30th row, where you will have made just a single crochet in the last stitch. Chain 1 and cut off the yarn.

2 Save

Mouth Pattern:

  • With red yarn, chain 8.
  • Starting in the second chain from the hook, do 7 SC for 3 rows. This creates a small rectangle that will serve as the mouth.

3 Save

Assembly:

  • Place the two body pieces adjacent to one another.
  • Fold the mouth piece in half and position it on one end of the body pieces.
  • You may stuff the stingray if desired before sealing.
  • Use the safety pin to hold the mouth in place.
  • With your yarn needle and yarn, start joining the pieces together with single crochet stitches along the edges. Remove the safety pin as you sew the mouth into position.

4 Save

Optionally, embroider or attach doll eyes to give your stingray personality.
