 Materials Needed:

  • Yarn (yellow for the banana, green for the stem, and black for the top)
  • Crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle
  • Keychain ring
  • Stuffing material

Pattern Instructions:

Save

Body:

Start: Create a slip knot and chain 18.

Row 1:

  • Start from the second chain from the hook.
  • Make 1 slip stitch in the next 2 chains.
  • Then, make 1 half double crochet in the next 12 chains.
  • End the row with 2 slip stitches in the last 2 chains.

Save

For Row 2 to Row 7:

  • Chain 1 and turn your work.
  • Work into the front loops only throughout.
  • Make 1 slip stitch in the first 2 stitches.
  • Then, make 1 half double crochet in the next 13 stitches.
  • End each row with 2 slip stitches in the last 2 stitches.

Row 8:

  • Chain 1 and turn.
  • Start with 1 slip stitch in the first 2 stitches (front loops only).
  • Make 1 half double crochet in the next 4 stitches (front loops only).
  • Proceed with 1 half double crochet decrease.
  • Then, make 1 half double crochet in the next 5 stitches (front loops only).
  • Make another half double crochet decrease.
  • Finish the row with 1 slip stitch in the last 2 stitches (front loops only).
  • Chain 1, fasten off, and leave a long tail for sewing.

Save

Stem (with green yarn):

Attach green yarn at the end of the banana.

  • Row 1: Make 5 single crochets.
  • Row 2-3: Chain 1, turn your work, and make 1 single crochet into each stitch from the previous row.

After Row 3, fasten off, and cut the yarn leaving a long tail for sewing.

Banana Head (with black yarn):

  • Attach black yarn at the other end of the banana.
  • Make 4 single crochets, fasten off, and leave a long tail for sewing.

Save

Assembly:

  • Use a yarn needle to sew the sides together.
  • Start stuffing the banana before completely sewing it shut.
  • Attach the keychain ring.
