Crochet Teddy Unicorn Amigurumi

Save

 Materials:

  • 100% Cotton Yarn in various colors
  • 3.5mm Crochet Hook
  • Fiberfill for stuffing
  • Stitch marker
  • Yarn Needle
  • Scissors
  • Safety Eyes

Save

Body & Legs:

Start with Pink Yarn: Make a magic circle or an alternative start with a slip knot, chain 2, then work 6 single crochets (SC) into the first chain or the magic circle.

Increase Rounds:

Save

  • Round 2: Work 2 SC in each around (12).
  • Round 3: SC in next, 2 SC in next repeat around (18).
  • Round 4: SC in next 2, 2 SC in next repeat around (24).

Work Straight Rounds: SC in each stitch around for two more rounds, maintaining 24 stitches. Change color to white.

  • Continue with White Yarn: Repeat the process for nine more rounds of SC (24 stitches each round) then do not cut the yarn.
  • For the Second Leg: Repeat the steps for the first leg but do not cut off white when complete.
  • Join Legs: Chain 3 to connect the two legs. Continue working SC around the tops of both legs, then work 3 SC around the chain, joining to form the body. Continue with increases and equal rounds as instructed.

Head:

Save

  • Start with White Yarn: Make a magic circle or alternative start with 6 SC.
  • Increase Rounds: Follow the pattern for increasing (e.g., 2 SC in the next stitch) for several rounds as detailed in your instructions, changing the number of SC between increases as needed to shape the head.
  • Straight Rounds: Work straight rounds of SC, adjusting the number as needed.

Save

Position Safety Eyes: Follow the recommendations to place the safety eyes between rounds 14 or 15, with 8 stitches apart. Secure them in place.

Ears, Muzzle, Horn, and Mane:

Save

  • Ears: Start with a magic circle, increase, and decrease as instructed. Finish off with a long tail for sewing.
  • Muzzle: Create starting with a magic circle, increasing to achieve the rounded muzzle shape. Stuff lightly before sewing to the head.
  • Horn: Use a magic circle to start, then work in SC, increasing and maintaining rounds to form the cone shape. Stuff lightly before attaching.

Save

  • Mane and Tail: Chain a specified length, then work SC, HDC (half-double crochet), or DC (double crochet) to create curls. Attach by sewing at the designated spots.

Arms:

  • Same as Legs: Follow a similar pattern as the legs with color changes as desired. Stuff the lower part and leave the end open for sewing.

Final Steps:

  • Assemble the Unicorn: Sew the head to the body. Attach the ears, arms, and horn. Sew the muzzle below the eyes. Attach the mane between the ears and along the neck, and the tail at the back.
  • Embroidery or Additional Decor: You may add blush cheeks, embroider nostrils, or additional decorations as desired.
