The Sophora Headband is a stylish and beginner-friendly crochet pattern. It's perfect for keeping your ears warm without giving you hat hair! Crochet Sophora Headband Pattern

Sophora Headband

Materials Needed:

  • Approximately 266 yards or 40g of aran weight yarn
  • 6.0mm crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Needle for finishing

Gauge:

  • 2 shell repeats in 3 inches (7.62 cm)
  • 2 shell rows in 1.5 inches (3.81 cm)

Stitch Key:

  • sc = single crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • sk = skip
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • ch = chain

Pattern Sizes:
Stitch counts are provided in the pattern as follows: (Small, Medium, Large)

Making the Headband:

  1. Row 1: ch(66, 71, 78), sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and to the end. sl st into the first sc to form a band (65, 70, 77 stitches).
  2. Row 2: ch1, sc, sk2, 5dc, sk2 repeat from * to * around, sl st into 1st sc (65, 70, 77).
  3. Row 3: ch3 (counts as first dc), 2dc, sk2, sc, sk2, 5dc repeat from * to * around. For the final stitches: sk2, sc, sk2, 2dc, and sl st into the top of the initial ch3 (65, 70, 77).
  4. Row 4: Repeat Row 2.
  5. Row 5: Repeat Row 3.
  6. Row 6: Repeat Row 2.
  7. Row 7: ch1, sc in each st around (65, 70, 77).
  8. Row 8: sl st in each st around (65, 70, 77).
  • You’ll finish with (11, 12, 13) shells.

After completing the final row, finish off the yarn and weave in any loose ends. For a polished look, join yarn to Row 1 and sl st in each st around, working on the right side.

Finishing Up:
Once you've completed the pattern steps, cut your yarn and weave in any ends with the needle. Your Sophora Headband is now finished and ready to keep your ears warm in style!
