Main Body (Make 2)

  1. Foundation Chain: Use the 3.5mm hook to chain to your preferred “Measurement A”.
  2. Row 1: sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, and in each ch across, turn.
  3. Row 2: ch 3 (counts as a dc), *skip 2 sts, 3dc in next st, repeat from * across until 2 sts remaining, skip next st, dc in last st, turn.

Continue…

  1. Row 3: ch 3, 2dc (forming first granny set) between first dc and next dc, *skip next 3 dc, 3 dc in space before next dc, repeat from * across, 2 dc in the gap before the turning chain, dc on top of the tch, turn.
  2. Row 4: ch 3, skip next 2 dc, *3 dc between the last dc and next dc, skip next 3 dc, repeat from * across, ending with a dc on top of the tch, turn.
  3. Repeat rows 3-4 until you reach “Measurement B”. Do not fasten off yet.

After the last row of granny stitch, ch 1 (not counted as a stitch), sc in each DC across, then fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembly:

  • Fold the two rectangles so the short sides touch, and secure them with stitch markers.

Waistband:

(using 3mm hook)

  1. Attach yarn: Join yarn at the center front corner.
  2. Round 1: ch 1, work 2 sc into every row end until the first marker, continue this pattern around the waist, slst to first sc to close the round.
  3. Round 2: ch 1, sc around, slst to close the round.
  4. Row 3-5: Create a tie with a ch of 19, sc into the 2nd ch from the hook and across, slst into the waistband, and turn. Continue in sc back loop only, back across the tie, alternating slst into the waistband after each row.

Final Touches:

  • Seam the under edges of the sleeves.
  • Close up part of the V neckline in the front as desired.
  • Determine the position of the back tie and add them by attaching yarn with a ch1 at the marked stitches, sc into the same st, and then chain about 150. Secure with a knot at the end.
  • Repeat on the other side for the second back tie.

Weave in all remaining ends to finish your Neith Top.
